Backpack Program

Our Backpack Feeding Program serves children on the island of Antigua who face food insecurity on the weekends. Each week, we provide 40 children with backpacks filled with healthy, nutritious meals to take home on Fridays—ensuring they have access to food throughout the weekend when school meals are unavailable.

The process:

To stretch our resources and serve more children, we purchase food in the U.S. at lower cost and ship it to Antigua via Healing Hands, a trusted partner who helps facilitate safe and efficient delivery. Once the shipment arrives, our local team on the ground in Antigua unloads the food, organizes it, and carefully packs the backpacks for weekly distribution. This team is lead by Sandra Felix and many other dedicated educators who care for the well-being of their students.

The program is more than just food—it is loving how Jesus loves. It offers stability, care, and hope to children in need. It eases the burden on families, helps kids stay focused in school, and reminds them that they are not forgotten.

As we look to the future, we hope to expand the program to reach even more children across the island. With continued support, we can feed more kids, reduce hunger, and help build a stronger, healthier community—one backpack at a time.
